Calling London... Using Boris Bikes.. Tell me what you think....

I'm a "boris bike" user and am interested to hear your opinions on the
scheme if you are too. Please take sixty seconds to answer three short
questions about using the Barclays Cycle Hire scheme and it will be
much appreciated.

Launch48

The Launch48 Weekend is about building web businesses with a group of people from a range of backgrounds and different sets of skills.

The Launch48 Weekend is different from most hack-days and entrepreneurial events because:

  1. We have a great set of mentors that work with groups to develop their web business
  2. Each team has 20 to 25 people working on each idea from a broad range of backgrounds
  3. Participants meet, learn from, and work with many people throughout the event
  4. All aspects of a business are covered including planning, marketing, PR, branding, design, finance, and development

The format of the event is (when run over a weekend, time dependent on venue):

  • Friday evening from 6:00 pm – registration, pitching begins, web business ideas are selected by the participants, and groups are formed
  • Saturday from 9 am to 9 pm – work begins on the web businesses, mentors work with groups
  • Sunday from 9 am to 9 pm – work continues, web businesses are launched and presented, networking dinner for all participants held from 7 pm

My involvement with this inaugural Launch48 is as a mentor - focusing my advice around expertise with business operations.

Wildlife Photographer of the Year '09

Today I visited Wildlife Photographer of the Year at the

Natural History Museum.

Photography as art will always be subject to personal opinion so
unsurprisingly I didn't agree with the winning photo.

I did though love the photo, Polar Sunrise:

Whilst at the Natural History Museum I thought I'd take advantage and check out the Blue Whale.

Still riding the iPhoneography wave I took a panaromic pic of the worlds largest mammal using Pano.

Getting in to iPhoneography

I've always liked the idea if being in to photography but actually am
not very good at putting the effort in to actually doing it...

Having the iPhone means I can ride the iPhoneography wave of taking
pics and dressing them up using the editing apps..

Here's an arty (it's black and white you see) pic taken and edited
with the PhotoGene app.
