A relatively obvious tip but a tip nonetheless... For those of an independent, freelance or "business polymath" types who undertake a fair amount of productivity online in the world of a wide web I share this..
I for one have the hats of "Me Inc", Strawberryway, Fiwave and Earth.org to wear every day... Each their own mail accounts, doc hubs etc etc
To make my desktop easier there are two tips:
1) Have a tabbed browser window for each hat - e.g. I have one Safari window for Strawberryway and one for Fiwave etc Within each are multiple tabs but only in relation to that organisation's activities
2) If you're on OS X / Linux then you can extend the above tip and place each window in to it's own desktop / space so that you can be focused on each organisation in turn
Following this tip allows having everything open and accessible for quick switching but eases the pain of info overload
Simple tip, kthxbai :)
