Are you supporting the 10:10 campaign?
Here's the response I got from my local MP in Henley on Thames when asking "are you supporting the 10:10 campaign?"
I'm curious how similar a response this is from other Tory MPs and what you're general comments are on it being a satisfactory answer... >From: "HOWELL, John">To: "'Dan M"

>Dear Dan
>Thank you for contacting me about the 10:10 campaign on climate change. >
>I fully support the 10:10 campaign launched earlier this month. My colleague Greg Clark MP, Shadow Secretary of State for Energy and Climate change, has also offered his endorsement publicly saying "Conservatives strongly support this campaign. Once again it shows how voluntary action can show the way, proving that a low-carbon future is an essential, achievable and urgent priority."
>
>The imperative for acting on climate change is now more pressing than ever and we must set real goals if we are to make significant reductions in carbon emissions. I believe my party has shown its commitment to the task through our 'Low Carbon Economy' policy paper (available on Conservatives.com) and through our campaigning for, and support of, the Climate Change Act, which sets emissions reduction targets for the UK of 80% by 2050.
>
>The international community must act with real urgency if we are to reach agreement on a successor treaty to Kyoto in Copenhagen in December. I welcome, as far as it goes, the agreement to consider and adopt at least 50 per cent reduction of global emissions by 2050, but it is vital that we know clearly the level from which the reduction is to be made and the international community must now redouble its efforts.

>Once again, thank you for taking the time to contact me.

>Dear John,
>
>Are you supporting the 10:10 campaign? Thousands and thousands of us are pledging to cut our emissions by 10% in 2010. We want to show that it's possible and to build support for decisive action to tackle climate change. I think it would really help if MPs showed a lead by getting involved.
>
>The government has a crucial role to play in making it cheaper and easier for the rest of us to cut our emissions, and at times making tough choices to make sure we reach our targets. We need MPs to show a lead, and it's bound to help if loads of MPs are taking part in 10:10. >
